🚌 Travel: Frequent travel within Kutch and occasionally outside is essential

Project Title: Social, Anthropological, & Technical Research of Crafts & Communities

✨ Key Responsibilities:

Collection Care & Preservation:

• Conduct field visits to rural areas across Kutch and beyond.
• Engage with artisans, community elders, and local organizations to gather insights.
• Collect and document data related to craft techniques, materials, tools, and socio-cultural practices.
• Participate in ethnographic observations, interviews, photography, transcription & audio-visual documentation.
• Maintain systematic field notes, reports, and data entry in both physical and digital formats.
• Assist in organizing and curating research content for internal documentation and public exhibits.

Essential Requirements:

• Maintain up-to-date documentation and cataloguing of all archived objects.
• Willingness to travel extensively across remote regions of Kutch and other parts of India. Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact sensitively and effectively with rural communities.

Desireable Skills:

• Knowledge of Kutchi dialect or familiarity with the local culture is a definite advantage.
• Basic proficiency in English, Hindi & Gujarati; ability to write clear and structured reports.
• Skills in photography, audio recording, or digital documentation tools would be helpful.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
